King Willem-Alexander (who recently revealed he flies for KLM, How cool is that??) and Queen Máxima of the Netherlands hosted the President and First Lady of Mozambique in The Hague on May 19th. The president was on a 2-day official visit focusing on further strengthening the relationship between the Netherlands and Mozambique. Earlier, Queen Máxima also met Sheikha Mozah of Qatar.

In the morning, Queen Máxima met with Sheikha Mozah of Qatar, in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary-General’s special advocate for inclusive finance for development (UNSGSA), when they attended the opening of the international seminar “Law, Education and the SDG’s” in The Hague Institute for Global Justice. Sheikha Mozah was the keynote speaker.

King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima welcomed the President and First Lady of Mozambique at a ceremonial welcome reception at the Noordeinde Palace in The Hague, which was followed by an audience. Later, the Royal Couple hosted a lunch at the Palace, where both the King and President gave speeches. In the afternoon, Queen Maxima, again in her capacity as the United Nations Secretary-General’s special advocate for inclusive finance for development (UNSGSA), had a meeting with the President.

Queen Máxima wore an electric blue trumpet sleeve Roksanda dress with tanzanite earrings and diamond clip brooches. For the welcome and lunch, she added a Eudia hat, swapping the earrings and brooch for diamond studs and a Belle Epoque stomacher brooch.
