Royal Condolences for Stockholm Attack

It is with a heavy heart that I write this post so soon after the last one. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. Royals from around the world have been sending messages of condolence to Stockholm following the despicable terrorist attack in Westminster on April 7th. Here are some of the messages;

Sweden

Just minutes after the world learned of the horrible attack in Stockholm, King Carl Gustaf released a statement while on a visit to Brazil:

It is with dismay the Royal Family and I have been informed of the attack in Stockholm this afternoon. The background and full extent of the incident is not yet known. We are closely following the developments but our thoughts are already now with the victims and their families.

The King and Queen Silvia canceled the rest of their tour and returned to Sweden soon after. Upon their return, King Carl XVI Gustaf gave a speech at the Royal Palace, saying:

Dear Swedes,

I have just finished meeting with the Chief of Police and the Chief of the Security Police and they have informed me and the royal family of police work after yesterday’s attack.

First of all let me say that my and the royal family’s thoughts are with the victims of this terrible deed.

We are all shaken by what has happened. It is also hopeful to see the care that people show each other and it shows in this power in our society. All of us who want to help are many, many more than those who wish us harm. That knowledge gives me comfort and confidence.

Police, sjuvården and emergency services have done a fantastic job to minimize the damage. Now it is important for them to continue working in peace and quiet.

Sweden is and has long been, and and will continue to be a safe and peaceful country.

Crown Princess Victoria, who served as Regent while the King and Queen were away, and Prince Daniel visited the site of the attack on April 8th, and laid flowers. She spoke about their grief and dismay, and also praised the community effort, saying;

The Swedish society is based on a huge reliance and a community. We will emerge stronger from this, in some way.

When asked the question of how to move forward, she replied: “Together.”

Princess Madeleine of Sweden posted the following on Facebook:

My thoughts go to my beloved Stockholm and the affected ones and their families.

  1. I truly cherished looking at your write-up. You make some top notch things I used to be just simply hunting for this info for a time. After five hours connected with continuous Googleing, last but not least I got this in the internet site. I actually ponder precisely the particular Google’s issue that does not rank this useful websites more close to the highest. Commonly the very best web pages contain trash.
