Happy Birthday to Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence! Born in 1955 to Commander Guy Stewart Laurence and Barbara Alison Laurence, Timothy studied in Kent and Durham before joining the Royal Navy in 1973. From 1986-1989, he served as Equerry to the Queen, and met the Princess Royal, who was estranged from her first husband. The couple started their relationship, and after she was divorced, they got married in 1992. Timothy Laurence continued his Naval career until his retirement as Vice Admiral in 2010. He was appointed a Knight of the Royal Victorian Order in 2011. Sir Timothy Laurence does not carry out official duties, but often accompanies the Princess Royal on official engagements and tours. However, Sir Tim is the Chairman of the English Heritage Trust and was the Vice Chairman of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. They live between Gatcombe Park and an apartment in St James’s Palace. We wish him a very Happy Birthday and Many Happy Returns!
