Lady Patricia Ramsay with Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Ingrid of Denmark, 1937

Today marks the death anniversary of Lady Patricia Ramsay, born Princess Patricia of Connaught, who died on this day in 1974! A granddaughter of Queen Victoria and sister of Crown Princess Margretha of Sweden, Princess Patricia relinquished her Royal title and style upon her 1919 marriage to Alexander Ramsay. She was thence known as Lady Patricia Ramsay, though she attended grand royal events as a Princess of the Blood Royal. Here she (wearing the Fife Fringe Tiara with her mother’s diamond riviere’s and bow brooch) is pictured with her son, Alexander Ramsay of Mar, and her niece and nephew-in-law, Crown Princess Ingrid (wearing the Pearl Poire Tiara and the Khedive of Egypt Parure) and Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, before the Coronation of King George VI in 1937, at Clarence House, the Londond home of Lady Patricia’s father, the Duke of Connaught.
