The members of the Royal Family greeted the Nobel Laureates and their guests in the Vita Havet Assembly Rooms, before they processed into Karl XI’s Gallery for the Banquet. Since the Banquet is a private event, we only get pictures from the procession and of the Royals greeting guests. Kungahuset also released a photo of the Royal Family with Yoshinori Ohsumi and Mariko Ohsumi.

Queen Silvia wore a red gown with the Nine Prong Tiara, diamond earrings, ruby brooch, and a diamond rivière. Crown Princess Victoria wore a glittering Jenny Packham gown with Princess Lilian’s Laurel Wreath Tiara, diamond earrings and brooch.

Princess Sofia wore a pink Stylein evening gown with the Four Button tiara, her diamond wedding earrings, and a brooch. Princess Madeleine wore a beige lace Valentino gown with the Modern Fringe Tiara, diamond earrings, bow brooch, and the Connaught Tiara as a necklace.

King Carl XVI Gustav, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl-Phillip, and Christopher O’Neil wore white tie with the sash of the Order of the Seraphim. Screen Shot 2016-12-11 at 11.04.11 AM.png

  1. Princess Madeleine and Christopher O’Neil will not attend a banquet for Nobel Laureates at the Royal Palace of Stockholm this year though, May prosperity the Nobel Prize and the Swedish Royal Family continue to reign.
