The Queen hosted a reception to celebrate 125 years of Royal Life Saving Society at Buckingham Palace on the evening of November 22nd. She was joined by the Duke of Edinburgh and Prince Micheal of Kent. They met outstanding Royal Life Saving Society volunteers, who teach drowning prevention, and the Queen presented awards and medals.

They met outstanding Royal Life Saving Society volunteers committed to Drowning prevention and life saving skills, including Professor John Pearn to whom the Queen awarded the King Edward VII Cup for lifelong contribution to researching the science of Drowning Prevention. She presented the Russell Award to Canadian lifeguard Tyler Bailer and the Mountbatten Medal to Zac Dominic from St Lucia for risking his life to save a man being dragged out to sea by the current.

The Queen wore a patterned outfit with her customary Three Strand Pearl Necklace. She also debuted the Queen Mother’s Curved Aquamarine Clip Brooches.
