Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark in the USA

TRH’s Crown Prince Frederik & Crown Princess Mary of Denmark were on a 4-day visit to the USA from the 27th of September to October 1st. They visited Washington DC and Boston, and attended a number of seminars and receptions, including a Grand Ball.

On Day 1, September 27th, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary attended a reception for the business delegation and specially invited representatives from the arts, cultural and diplomatic worlds in Washington at the Danish Embassy. During the reception, they opened a new exhibition “Arts in Embassy” at the ambassador’s residence with modern Danish art. The Crown Prince also presented HRH Prince Henrik’s Medal of Honour.

On Day 2, the Crown Prince took part in a race at The National Mall in Washington DC in the morning. The couple visited the US Chamber of Commerce where the Crown Prince made an opening speech. Crown Prince Frederik gave the opening speech at a seminar for maritime industry, while Crown Princess Mary attended a seminar on health and social services. In the evening, the Crown princely couple attended a Grand Ball in the Smithsonian Arts and Industries Building.

The Crown Princely couple ended their visit in Boston, where they were greeted Massachusetts governor Charlie Baker. They toured the Boston Statehouse before attending a luncheon with Massachusetts politicians and the Danish business delegation. They ended their day at the Boston Children’s Hospital.
