The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge, Prince George and Princess Charlotte started the royal visit to Canada on September 24th. They landed at Victoria Airport in the afternoon, and then attended a Welcome Ceremony at the BC Legislature buildings in Downtown Victoria. I was present at the Welcome, and got to see the Duke and Duchess. I also shook hands with the Duchess. Continue reading
Royal Visit to Canada 2016: Day 2- Vancouver

TRH’s the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent Day 2 of the Royal Visit to Canada in Vancouver. They arrived on a seaplane at Vancouver Harbour, visited charities for mothers and immigrants, and met young people. The royal couple finished their day of engagements in Vancouver with a visit to a Coast Guard Station, before returning to Victoria. Continue reading
Royal Visit to Canada 2016: Day 3- Bella Bella & Victoria

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent Day 3 of the Royal Visit to Canada in Bella Bella and Victoria. Their initial engagement of day was canceled due to the rain, but the Duke & Duchess attended a traditional First Nations welcome in Bella Bella, and the dedication of the Great Bear Rainforest. In the evening, back in Victoria, they attended a Black-rod Ceremony and a Reception at Government House. Continue reading
Royal Visit to Canada 2016: Day 4- Kelowna & Whitehorse

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge continued their tour of Canada in Kelowna, British Columbia, and in Whitehorse, Yukon on September 27th. They visited the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus, watching a volleyball game, and later visiting the ‘Taste of British Columbia‘ festival at Mission Hill Winery in Kelowna. The Duke and Duchess moved on to Whitehorse, for the start of their visit to Yukon, where they attended a Welcome ceremony.Continue reading

They visited the MacBride museum, attended a Healing Totem ceremony, received a traditional First nations welcome, and saw a mountain biking demonstration before returning back to Victoria. Royal Visit to Canada 2016: Day 7- Haida Gwaii

The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge visited Haida Gwaii, an archipelago on the northern coast of British Columbia, on Day 7 of their Royal Visit to Canada. They arrived by canoe at the Haida Heritage Centre and Museum in Skidegate, where they received a traditional First Nations welcome. Later they opened the new Haida Gwaii Hospital and Care Centre, before going for a boat ride and fishing on the waters of the Hecate Strait. Continue reading

On the last day of their Royal Visit to Canada, the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge had a series of engagements in Victoria, the capital of British Columbia.
