The Queen attends a preview of the ‘Fashioning a Reign’ Exhibition

The Queen attended a preview of the ‘Fashioning a Reign‘ Exhibition in Buckingham Palace on July 25th. Fashioning A Reign: 90 Years Of Style is a display in honour of the Queen’s 90th Birthday. The Exhibition includes 80 of the Queen’s iconic outfits, and 62 hats. It runs at Buckingham Palace until the 2nd  of October. 

The Queen attended a private view with a Lady-in-Waiting. Among the outfits included were: an embellished evening gown worn during a 1961 State Visit to Italy with the Cambridge Emerald Parure, and a turquoise blue gown worn during the 1965 State Visit to Germany with the Pearl version of The Grand Duchess Vladimir Tiara.

Other outfits include: her Coronation and Wedding gowns ,the famous dress worn to the opening ceremony of the 2010 London olympics, a floral green dress worn on the Silver Jubilee tour of 1977, as well as the dress of the Prince of Wales’s  Investiture in 1969.

The Queen wore a peach floral dress, pairing her customary  Three Strand Pearl Necklace with a diamond brooch. (possibly The Triple Diamond Bar Brooch)
