Jewels of the Romanovs

Today, July 17, 2016, is the 98th anniversary of the execution of the Romanovs, Russia’s last Imperial Family. The last emperor and his family were shot in Ekaterinburg, while other members of the family were thrown down a well.  

The Jewels of the Romanovs, displayed in 1922, by the Bolshevik government. These jewels were confiscated as part of the items bought by state funds at the time of the abdication in March, 1917, the jewels that were privately owned went with the family in exile, and were recovered from their clothing after the assassination.
